Press Release
IdeaBlade Forms Technical Advisory Council
August 30, 2005

IdeaBlade forms Technical Advisory Council for greater insight and analysis of technology, trends, and market direction as enterprise adoption grows.

The council brings tremendous experience, plus visible and influential industry thought leadership.

Emeryville, Calif. - August 30, 2005 - IdeaBlade Corporation, provider of enterprise middleware for .NET and a productivity suite for Microsoft Visual Studio developers, today announced the formation of a Technical Advisory Council to provide strategic, technical, and market insight as it expands in the enterprise, and ISV markets.

The council will meet quarterly to address the direction of IdeaBlade products and services, architectural trends, developer issues, and best practices in enterprise architecture and application development.

The newly formed Technical Advisory Council will include prominent and influential members of the developer community, including:

  • Juval Löwy, Microsoft Software Legend, Regional Director, INETA speaker, author, and consultant.
  • Rockford Lhotka, Microsoft MVP, Software Legend, Regional Director, INETA speaker, author, and consultant.
  • Billy Hollis, Microsoft MVP, Software Legend, Regional Director, INETA speaker, author, and consultant.
  • Les Pinter, Microsoft MVP, consultant, author, and frequent industry speaker.
  • Doron Grinstein, technical director, Walt Disney Studios.

Noting a key IdeaBlade strength on smart client, Billy Hollis points out that "smart client systems definitely need a core framework that supplements the .NET libraries. Otherwise, a team can waste several months creating very generic functionality instead of working on specific business problems."

According to Les Pinter "IdeaBlade turns .NET into a competitive development environment. Without it, developers can spend a considerable amount of time experimenting with techniques. IdeaBlade builds the kind of code we'd write if we knew everything there was to know about smart client development."

Added Rockford Lhotka, "IdeaBlade is a well-integrated tool set that shows great promise for business developer productivity."

IdeaBlade founder and Chief Technology Officer, Jay Traband welcomes the group, saying "Billy, Juval, Rocky, and Les each bring tremendous experience, and exposure to Microsoft technologies. They also have great interaction with the professional developer community. And Doron provides great visibility into the practical side of enterprise development, so he.s capable of best evangelizing the customer view and keeping us grounded. I look forward to working with each of them."

IdeaBlade includes a developer productivity suite and middle-tier business object server. The suite features a rapid application development (RAD) framework with model-view-controller (MVC) architecture, object relational mapping (ORM), advanced persistence management, client-side caching, UI DataBinding, online/offline capabilities, one-click deployment, version management, and more. IdeaBlade fully integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio and third-party control suites like those from Infragistics and Developer Express.

IdeaBlade also offers a free version of their development suite for basic client/server applications called IdeaBlade-Lite. It may be downloaded at www.ideablade.com.
