Our company is evaluating DevForce for use in our upcoming infrastructure application.  However I am having trouble getting DevForce to recognize the installation of the latest version of DevExpress http://www.devexpress.com/Downloads/NET/DXperience/ .  When I open the IdeaBlade toolbox installer DevExpress v8.1 is not checked and if I try to check it gives me the messages that “The DevExpress v8.1 suite cannot be loaded. Please check that this control suite has actually been installed on this machine”.  I have installed the suite and all of the controls are showing up in visual studio.  The Infragistics v8.1 works fine but I would like to get the DevExpress v8.1 working as well so I can test the differences in regards to DevForce.  If you have any tips on how to get DevForce to recognize my DevExpress v8.1 installation I would appreciate it.

 

I am running VS 2008 installed on Windows Server 2003 x64.

DevExpress is installed under the default directory of C:\Program Files (x86)\Developer Express .NET v8.1

If you're using the express version you can't integrate with 3rd party widgets.  (See the product comparison page.)
