Are you using DevForce 3.6.0.1 are DevForce 3.6.1.1?

I tried AspDataSource with VS2008 and had no problems?
 
Did you try the Tutorial on AspDataSource?  If so, you will have to convert the solution from VS2005 to VS2008.  Try this, and tell me if you have to edit the ASPX fle and/or Web.config file to get it to work
 
Did you follow the steps described in the tutorial?  AspDataSource can't really be used until you have your projects correctly set up.

I can not populate the aspdatasource control in vs 2008 pro version...

I am attempting the asp web app instructional unit.. part 1.

When I try to drag the aspdatasource to the page, the system beeps, but no control is populated. Works fine in VS 2005 pro version.
 
using 3.6.1 of devforce express..
