DevForce Universal Licensing FAQ

How do you license DevForce Universal?

We license DevForce Universal on a per-developer basis. Each developer who uses our DevForce business objects must obtain a license and may install on more than one machine providing the software is used by the same developer.

What are the advantages of licensing with Priority Support?

Priority Support is the best option for professional developers. With Priority Support we provide senior support engineers, escalation to product developers and access to priority support channels. See Support Levels.

Do I need to pay royalties for DevForce?

No. There are no royalties for the redistribution of the DevForce Universal runtimes. End User applications developed using DevForce Universal can be distributed to internal or external users as needed. If you distribute the software in your application and other developers need to use DevForce Universal to customize your application, additional license must be purchased.

Are there Runtime or Server fees?

We do not charge any server CPU fees for DevForce Universal with Standard Server runtimes that have been integrated into applications which you build. We do offer an optional server upgrade to the Data Center Server which is licensed on a per server basis.

Do I have access to all upgrades as part of my license?

With an active subscription you will have access to all minor and major releases of DevForce Universal.

What happens when my subscription expires?

You may continue to use the last version of the product you acquired before the expiration of the subscription. You will no longer have access to Standard or Priority Support and upgrades of new releases.

How do I renew my subscription?

We will send out an invitation to renew your subscription one month before expiration. In order to renew you can either respond directly to this email or order your renewal online.

Do you offer Source Code options?

We offer several source code purchasing options. Please contact us if you have further questions.
